Compare how Ron Suskind presents the difficulties of Cedric’s education in part one and two of his articles

In this essay I will be expressing how Ron Suskind uses language techniques to present the difficulties of Cedric’s education in part one and two of his articles. Cedric goes through many difficulties when in Ballou. For example, receiving abuse and violence and getting bullied for doing well. Then at MIT he couldn’t keep u with the work at times and was struggling. Throughout the articles Mr. Suskind uses language techniques to suggest that getting a good education was difficult for Cedric. Continue reading

Essay

I believe that by Caesar and Brutus knowing the horrible fate they make it happen. I think that if they did not know they would not have been the death of Caesar on the ides of March. In the play the idea fate was used a few times which makes the play predictable but interesting, for example the soothsayer said to Caesar that beware the Ides Of March and on that day Caesar dies. In the same occasion Shakespeare uses fate twice because the only people to talk to the soothsayer was Caesar and Brutus. Brutus was the only other person to talk to the soothsayer and he was the one who gave the blow that killed Caesar. This shows that it is fate because even though Brutus was Caesar’s best friend he was still the one to kill him. People will start to think, if Brutus was not there when Caesar spoke to the soothsayer would it of been him who killed Caesar and would Caesar be killed on the Ides Of March.

Shakespeare represents fate with few techniques like dramatic irony. For example as the audience we know that the conspiriters are going to kill Caesar on the Ides Of March and we know he is going to die, however Caesar knows but does not believe it because of his hubris. This mans pride killed him, Caesar thought he was too powerful and believe he will die when he wanted to. I believe that Caesar would not of died if he did not know this terrible fate. I believe that Caesar would have stayed with his wife at home, and would have no reason to prove himself to anyone to secure his pride.

There was times when Caesar might of avoided his death but fate made sure he died on the Ides Of March. Like when Calpurnia had bad omens and Caesar was not going to go to the capital because she was sure that some thing terrible was going to happen to Caesar. But Decius (Fate) came and collected Caesar and took him to the Capital. This shows us that it was his fate to die and that we knew about it but he did not which makes the link between Dramatic Irony and Fate.

Another technique is pathetic fallacy this is when you give human feelings and responses to objects. For example Calpurnia had a dream that Caesar’s statue was bleeding out, this is crazy because there is no way a statue can bleed so this is where pathetic fallacy comes in and represents the fate of Caesar. The statue had lots of stab. Another is when Casca has bad omens and shares them with Cicero and Cassius. He said that he has seen ” Th’ambitious ocean swell, and rage and foam, To be exalted with the threatening clouds; But never till tonight, never till now, Did I go through a tempest dropping fire.” This is pathetic fallacy because the weather can not have feelings or actions.

act 4 scene 3

I believe that this scene represents the guilt and being frightened. In this scene brutus is speaking to the “ghost of Caesar.” I believe this represents the guilt of Caesar’s death because, he is alone when he sees the ghost which means that it is in his head and he has had bad thoughts after arguing with Cassius. Brutus’ state of mind is not right things are not going his way and had to take upon alot of power. I think that Brutus is slowly falling apart and his departure will be at Philippi. This is where Brutus believes he will die because he said that he will see Caesar’s ghost at Philippi

Act 3 Scene 3

Act 3 scene 3 is when the revolution starts. This scene is short. The croud are furious at the death of Caesar and seek revenge. The Croud find Cinna the poet and are  questioning him. When they found out his name was cinna they thought that he was a conspirator, so they killed him. The croud and the plebs want to find out who you are so they can get more people on their side, or kill their enimies. (“Tear him for his bad verses, tear him for his bad verses.”) This showsnyou how brutal and savage the croud are even though this man did nothing to deserve this.

This shows you that these people love Caesar and if you have a little amount of connection with the killers even the name the a name they will kill you.

How does Shakespeare build tension and play with the idea of fate?

In this text I will tell how Shakespeare uses Dramatic Irony to build tension and play with the idea of fate.

Dramatic Irony is when the audience knows more than the characters in the play. For example in act 1 scene 2 the Soothsayer said ‘beware the Ides Of March.’ This causes an effect on the audience and the characters in the play because, everyone now knows something bad is going to happen to Caesar but we don’t know what. This means the Soothsayer is being ambiguous, (not saying everything, not the hole message) which causes tension because we do not know  exactly what is going to happen. Adding on to this point, in act three scene 1 the Soothsayer appears because it is the Ides Of March, (when something terrible is about to happen to Caesar) this means that the Soothsayer is a symbol for Caesar’s death. This is Dramatic Irony because, the audience will see the Soothsayer on the Ides Of March and know that now is the time t

The Unknown

It was a long time ago, that which I could never forget, or want to remember; what happen.

Why did I ever go into that house?

What I am talking about is Bella’s house, on Forest Hill Drive number 23. The house is still there if you want to go and see it now.Any way there I was at her front door with my Bro Kieran . “Ding Dong!”

“Yay Jeff and Kieran are here are here with their things meaning they’re staying! ” Shouted Jade to Bella.    “Do you know where I can charge my Iphone 6?” Kieran asked with his dull voice. “Sure straight through here under the table.” Bella said reassuring Kieran.

As I slowly walked through the house examining every last bit, but I never noticed Bella had a dog, and there it was leaking on my leg. I had to change already because of that stupid ridiculous dog. As we gathered in the living room with our hot chocolate we watched Waterloo Road at 8:30 pm on BBC 1,the girls were awful, talking forever about the show while it was going on; Kieran was on his phone for the whole time like a some sort of robot, still talking in a weird language, he wasn’t interacting with anyone but that stupid phone. Any way we just ignored him. I stayed with Bella trying to support of her loss, even though I didn’t care about that selfish beast.

Kieran finally got off the phone and started talking, you would of thought he would of died on that phone. “What a night, why don’t we just look at the stars?” Kieran asked. It was already twelve forty-five, and we were still out of our tents gazing at the stars, it really relaxes you.Well thats what I thought it was.

Bella was barely able to say, “Can we go to bed?” I put Bella to bed but me, Jade and Kieran were still outside. All of of a sudden a strong white light beamed from the sky blinding me, not to see the death of Jade. The light from the sky had gone. To my left was Jade who was dead. She had Litres of foam dripping from her mouth, leaving her clod and pale. But where was Kieran.

“Band Bang!!” I realised what was happening. It was Kieran ,he killed the dog, he must of drugged Jade, but why?  “OH NO Bella!”

I found him in the tent chopping off Bella’s head, he stopped. Not even looking at me, like he could feel my presents, or able to see through the back of his head. Quickly I ran into the house and grabbed the sharpest Knife I could find and stuck it in the back of my trousers. “CLICK!” It was the door, the back door.

“Jeff come on, I can’t hurt my best friend.

” But you already killed Bella and Jade! But why, we have been friends for years. It must of been that trip, that holiday with your family; you have been acting weird since. What are you?” Kieran walked through the kitchen door, While I was hiding under the table I grabbed his leg; I pulled him to the ground. What happened next scared me for life.

We both stood up, I pulled out the 12 inch knife.

“Stop! At least let me show you the real me.” Kieran shouted grinning.

Kieran or who I thought was Kieran, put the weapon to the top of his head. He split his head open, with not blood but green slime bursting out to the ground. This creature slowly tore off the skin he was hiding in.

“Now we battle!” Kieran explained as he slowly crept towards me.

He dropped over his own slime. That was my time to strike my time to end this.

“No this is my time!” As Jade the one one who I thought was dead, stabbed THE ALIEN in his heartless chest; leaving him squirting out, and putting his body or form all over the kitchen.

I still remember, and now I watch my back and maybe you should watch yours.

Practice Assessment

Dear Diary,

Today has been the worst day of my life, well the second. The first was when war was declared. Today my best friend Todd died in the trenches. It all started when a enemy trooper climbed into our trench. That trooper killed three of our men because they were fatigued, and then Todd ran out and tackled him to the floor. But in the process just before hitting the ground he got shot in the face. The trooper was killed and put out on top of the trench.

Everyone was overwhelmed, no one was ready for the trooper. Everyone was angry and disappointed with the fact they lost four men over one trooper. We should of been ready.
